Volunteers Football
St. Aloysius student-athletes join teammates from St. Jude, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Catharine on Volunteers Football teams that compete in the Greater Catholic Youth League. Gators in kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to sign up for the Volunteers.
The Vols field teams at the following levels each year:
- Bandit: Children in grades K-2
- Pony: Children in grades 3-4
- Reserve: Children in grades 5-6
- Varsity: Children in grades 7-8
Sign-ups are CLOSED for the fall 2024 season. Registration occurs each March-May for the fall season.
The Vols play home games at St. Jude Field while using David James Field at Oskamp Park for practices throughout the week.
Football Today
The Vols organization follows USA Football's coaches training and player safety guidelines, including the Heads Up Football program. Coaches' certification is required at all levels. Our coaches further their training and certification in concussion awareness, Lindsay's Law practices, and Safe Parish training.
Player safety is the No. 1 concern. The creation of standard fundamental player skill sets at each level help our players to become better prepared and skilled in the sport of football. The game has changed and we have changed with it, evolving and teaching the right way!
